Qualifications Related experience that demonstrates this ability includes ability to operate commercial dryers, washers, extractors and cart washers; ability to load commercial washers, assuring balance of loads, setting controls, sorting linens; knowledge of recording and documenting work completed. (This experience must be documented on your resume.) PHYSICAL EFFORT:The employee needs physical ability for accomplishment of heavy physical tasks for extended periods. Physical demand include: pushing heavy carts; lifting loads of over 50 pounds; pulling wet wash from washer/extractor and continual bending, stooping, walking and standing on concrete floors. WORK CONDITIONS:Working conditions include machinery noise; hot and humid atmosphere; offensive odors while sorting and washing soiled linen, which is contaminated with infectious organisms and having wet clothing and shoes while pulling laundry loads. The employee is subjected to the possibility of minor cuts, scrapes, bruises and needle wounds. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. Additional information Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
