Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Scott AFB, Arts and Crafts Center, Auto Hobby Shop. This is a Flexible position, 0-40 hours per week. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. Must complete a pre-employment physical and be able to lift objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds Must be able to work different shifts, to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of a wide variety of automotive tools and parts; good workshop practices to include setting up and maintaining a neat, well organized and secure storage area; inventory procedures and records maintenance. In addition, must have experience working with patrons providing quality customer service. Must be able to follow written and/or oral instruction, make simple mathematical computations and be able to follow cash handling procedures. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to work different shifts, to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations. Education This position does not allow for education substitution.
