Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government travel card (GTC).
Must be able to pass pre-employment/deployment physical and maintain annual requirements.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 90% of the time. (CONUS/OCONUS)
This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Occasionally lifts heavier items with assistance.
Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 year and 1 day. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (Direct Hiring Authority) ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic tasks which include: repairing and maintaining integrated electronic systems. I can demonstrate how to troubleshoot and repair electronic warfare or multiple integrated electronic systems composed of several systems which are closely interrelated and interdependent. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to ensure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Efforts: Work requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifts heavier items with assistance. Employee is expected to climb onto equipment, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel and stand for extended periods of time. Works, as required, in cramped or awkward positions. Occasionally work in high places may be required.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in well-lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Exposed to dirt, grease, dust, exhaust fumes, and high noise levels. Subject to the possibility of injury such as cuts, bruises, burns, electrical shock, and falls from equipment. Work may be performed outside in inclement weather.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
