Accounting Specialist

Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist at POLARIS Laboratories provides financial, clerical and administrative assistance to maintain accurate and on-time invoices to customers. As a member of a dynamic group, this individual also frequently provides assistance or ownership of special projects that may cross into other areas of accounting.

Daily, weekly and monthly invoice processing

Accounting projects as assigned by Accounting leadership

Assigning a general ledger account to a transaction

Process Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables

Be backup for the vendor bill process

Collect on past due accounts

Post and reconcile credit card transactions

Prepare bank deposits

Serve as the accounting contact person

5%

Organize and maintain accounting filing system

Assist in preparing financial reports

5%

Ensure invoicing procedure is being followed in accordance with Quality System

Work closely with accounting consultants to process year end

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Collaborate with departments throughout the organization to address account payable needs and issues

OTHER DUTIES

• Adherence and support of the POLARIS Employee Handbook inclusive of the Standards of Conduct
• Learn and support of the quality management system
• Other duties as assigned

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety: Protective eye wear
• Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. POLARIS Laboratories, LLC provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
• The following safety training for POLARIS Laboratories employees to complete includes:
• Hazmat, OSHA, RCRA, Methylene Chloride, Contingency Plan, POLARIS Quality System, Internal Auditor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced knowledge of excel and netsuite or other accounting software
• Accounting Degree or equivalent related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• The preferred qualifications desired in terms of education, course concentration, work experience, technical knowledge and desired advanced certifications.
• Knowledge of Sage fixed asset software
