Responsibilities

Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our Cardiology Department.

Looking for an energetic NP to join our dynamic General Cardiology team to provide comprehensive inpatient care to critically and chronically ill patient populations that include Coronary artery disease/NSTEMI/STEMI, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, Rhythm disturbances and inflammatory heart conditions, We work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative way to provide world class patient centered care.

* In this role, the APP will utilize comprehensive assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics to evaluate, diagnose, manage and treat patients in the inpatient setting.
* Must be able to make modifications to the plan of care as necessary while also identifying psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family.
* The APP will be responsible for admissions, consults and discharges and must be able to perform detailed histories and physicals.
* The clinician must be able to interpret multiple sources of data to make clinical judgments and develop a plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Cardiology Physicians and determine the effectiveness of the plan of care.
* Be able to prescribe appropriate guideline directed medical therapy.
* Participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
* Provide education to patients and families.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required:

* BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
* One or more of the following required:
* Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
* Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
* Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
* Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
* Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.

Education:

* Master's degree of Nursing required.
