Overview

The Investment Strategy and Risk Management (ISRM) team is responsible for oversight of and input into the top-down portfolio construction of the Firm's portfolios and ensuring client portfolios appropriately capture the Firm's bottom-up investment recommendations.This is a highly visible role which will feature interaction with Senior Management across various investment teams as well as the client-facing part of the organization. Additionally, this individual will assist in enhancing Adams Street's fundamental data analysis capabilities across private market investment information.

This role is well suited for candidates interested in assisting in the management of high performing private market portfolios. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, an interest in investment strategy and be able to multi-task in a collaborative culture with frequent project deadlines. This role is not appropriate for candidates interested in doing bottom-up deal or fund selection.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in office work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with ISRM and investment teams to optimize performance of Adams Street's portfolios through disciplined fund management across a variety of rapidly growing strategies and structures.
• Assist in data and statistical analysis of portfolio company and fund level information to derive insights for portfolio management and investment decision making.
• Work across various internal teams to coordinate the sourcing, maintenance, and usage of investment data.
• Prepare investment allocations for both fund and company investments across all Adams Street strategies.
• Monitor client portfolios across different risk tolerances, investment objectives and phases of the investment life cycle.

Candidate Requirements

We seek an individual who is self-disciplined, demonstrates excellent attention to detail and has the following characteristics:

• Prior experience or demonstrable knowledge of quantitative and statistical methods. Previous experience in a finance or investment-oriented role is a plus.
• Excellent Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
• Prior coursework and/or demonstrated experience with R, SQL, Python, database design, developing analytical tools, and/or other statistical methods and tools.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Maintains accuracy and quality when working within tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize and independently execute assigned projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
