Job Description:
McKesson Medical Surgical Government Solutions (MMSGS) is growing our business with government customers and Product Strategy and Supplier Partnerships (PSSP) has a new opportunity to support this segment. In this role you will engage suppliers, explaining our value proposition, answering supplier questions, guiding them through onboarding requirements, and helping manage the government portion of our supplier relationships. Project management expertise, good organization, and attention to detail will help you engage with a broad cross-functional team managing multiple overlapping initiatives with specific deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and flexible enough to adjust with sometimes fluctuating priorities. They must be comfortable talking to suppliers and demonstrate proactive engagement with many cross-functional partners. Familiarity with PSSP's processes and departments will enable the person to efficiently guide MMSGS initiatives to good solutions. Must be able to balance urgency with good judgement to meet priorities while operating responsibly in a sensitive government environment. The person must demonstrate critical thinking and ILEAD behaviors to identify challenges and suggest effective solutions.
This role offers a great chance to learn more about McKesson's government business and gain exposure to many different teams within McKesson Medical Surgical (MMS). You will be introduced to a slew of government acronyms and learn a lot about how to do business with government customers.
Key Responsibilities:
A core responsibility is to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to support our federal programs. This includes knowing which suppliers' products would be the best fit and identifying whether they have the foundational terms in place to be considered. Establishing alignment with the category manager to ensure strategic fit and look for negotiation leverage is critical. This person may own the relationship with suppliers that are solely partnered with McKesson on federal business.
A critical ability is to be comfortable working with a myriad of teams within and outside of PSSP. Building trusted relationships and sharing information timely and clearly is a necessity. Being comfortable supporting multiple initiatives at once with a positive mindset is essential. This person will also support bids and engagement with McKesson Brands from a product/support standpoint.
Strong attention to detail and proactively bringing risk concerns to the attention of leadership is critical. A general understanding of how PSSP makes supplier partnership decisions and the administrative functions of product/supplier management is considered a plus.
Critical Skills:
- 3+ years relevant experience
- More than 1 year supporting product and category strategies (government background preferred)
- 2+ years of experience with sales support (marketing, direct sales, product bids or quoting)
- 1+ years government customer segment experience (preferred)
- Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with various stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Education
- 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$68,400 - $114,000
