Job Description

Our leading-edge Scrum team in the engineering group is looking for a motivated and energetic Associate Software Engineer who is eager to learn and make an impact to our mission critical applications. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the engineering leads, product and design teams, as well as other developers and QAs to deliver applications which are scalable, secure, robust and highly performing. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

• Develop new features by understanding the requirement from product team 
• Write clean code along with a healthy unit and integration test coverage 
• Analyze and identify issues in product requirements and take appropriate action 
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions through design discussions 
• Adhere to established software development guidelines 
• Troubleshoot issues and recommend required actions 
• Support your deliverables in production 
• Adopt Agile process within SquareTrade 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related major is required 
• 0-2 years of professional software development experience 
• Experience in Java and understanding of software development life cycle 
• Knowledge and experience in SQL 
• Be able to learn and pick up new skills and technologies quicky 
• Familiar with code versioning tools such as GitHub 
• Familiar with Scrum methodology 
• Good communication skills and team player 
• Ability to understand and use CI/CD tools like Jenkins, etc. 

Nice to Have: 

• 0-1 years of professional software development experience in Java based enterprise applications 
• Knowledge and experience with Springboot and Microservices 
• Experience with REST based web services

(Colorado Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible compensation for this role, if hired in Colorado, to be within the following range: 75K - 95K
