Location Information (Remote):

This remote role supports our Lab Automation group, an ISO 9001 certified organization, in the European region, working closely with the Integration Supervisor based in our Canada office. Our team designs, manufactures, and installs robotic solutions globally, accelerating drug discovery and synthetic biology research for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. How you will make an impact:

As an Automation Integrator you will be part of a team constructing and integrating custom crafted automation systems for the pharma and bio-pharma research industries at some of the most prominent research laboratories in the EMEA region. You will play a key role in the successful completion of projects while upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's high standards for quality.

What you will contribute:

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with multi-functional project teams that include the customer, Project Managers, Automation Specialist, Designers, Software Developments, to plan and implement ETO solutions to achieve the agreed requirements
• Provide suggestions and highlight any concerns to the team including Designers and Project Managers
• Share feedback to the Operations and R&D teams to help drive and implement continuous improvements

Technical

• Assembly and testing of electromechanical sub-assemblies
• Construction of system platforms, safety guarding, and containment enclosures
• Integration of sophisticated laboratory instruments for accurate positioning and establishing of data communications
• Program movers and multi-axis robots using our company's market leading scheduling software and validate all pick/place positions for smooth, efficient, and repeatable operation of the system
• Support site acceptance testing and promptly help address any deficiencies cited
• Assist in development of technical solutions to meet the customer's requirements
• Help defines the job build tasks required to optimally complete the project in a timely manner
• Identify and record changes required to Bills of Materials and Work Instructions
• Identify any part non-conformances and help implement the countermeasures

How will you get there?

Education:

• Technology diploma in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or other related subject area

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' proven automation integration or a related field.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficiency in understanding and following mechanical and electrical drawings
• Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
• Familiarity with testing and measuring instruments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional presence both with the customer and internal departments
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Familiarity with ERP systems is considered an asset
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills, other languages are considered an asset

• Valid Passport
• Ability to travel 75% of the time without restrictions
