We are looking for a new colleague in the CAE Department at our Washington, MI location.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct CAE simulations of Steering systems to evaluate design performance against known structural, NVH, and related engineering targets and specs.
  • Participate in root cause investigations using CAE and NVH studies to identify and implement improvements and resolve issues.
  • Improve system designs by numerical optimization and robustness investigation using parametric models.
  • Develop and maintain timing of CAE and system simulation tasks to support program milestones.
  • Develop new analysis/simulation processes and techniques to support new customer requirements.
  • Use CAE to investigate and evaluate new design and product technologies. Support product development projects related to customer concerns and cost reductions.
  • Draw conclusions from analyses performed and write formal reports.
  • Prepare and give presentations on analyses performed.
  • Work closely with offshore BCL colleagues to develop models and run analyses.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years progressive CAE experience, Steering system CAE preferred.
  • 3 or more years of CAE experience with codes such as Abaqus, Adams, ANSYS, or Nastran. Experience with HyperWorks / HyperMesh.
