The Cloud FinOps Analyst will lead cross-enterprise efforts to optimize AWS cloud costs and spending. This individual will work closely with teams across Cloud Operations, Finance, Application teams, Data Platform, Data Analytics, and external FinOps vendors to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives. They will work with Enterprise Architects and Product Solution Architects in Cloud Cost Estimation and transparency dashboard for cost monitoring. They will take ownership of driving cost efficiency projects, monitoring cloud spend and providing transparent updates on progress to stakeholders.
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with expertise in cloud financial management, AWS services, and cost optimization strategies. The position does not have direct reports but involves collaboration across functional teams.

Role qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud cost management, cloud operations, or FinOps, preferably within AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, pricing models, and cost management tools.
- Experience with cloud financial management platforms and FinOps methodologies.
- Proven track record in identifying, driving, and monitoring cost optimization initiatives.
- Ability to analyze cloud cost data, create reports, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of cloud usage forecasting, budgeting, and financial governance best practices.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience working with a FinOps vendor or FinOps certified.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management tools like AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, AWS Trusted Advisor and CloudZero FinOps platform.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and coordinate cloud cost optimization initiatives across the enterprise, partnering with Cloud Operations, Finance, Application teams, Data Platform, Data Analytics, and external vendors.
- Act as the point of contact for AWS cost optimization, working directly with AWS and FinOps vendors to ensure cost-efficiency goals are met.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for cost savings through right-sizing, reserved instances, savings plans, automation, and decommissioning unused resources.
- Monitor and analyze AWS usage, identifying trends and forecasting future cloud spend.
- Provide regular reports and updates on cost optimization initiatives, project progress, and savings achieved to key stakeholders, including weekly and monthly reviews.
- Collaborate with finance teams to align cloud spend with budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track cloud cost optimization performance.
- Ensure cloud financial governance and implement best practices for cost transparency, chargeback, and resource tagging.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce cloud costs without sacrificing performance or scalability.
- Participate with our AWS TAM team and Cloud House of Excellence to remain up-to-date with AWS cost optimization tools, pricing models, and industry best practices.
