Coil Winder - 3rd Shift

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Coil Winder - 3rd Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour.

What you'll do:

Job Summary
Use defined procedures/processes/specifications and cmoputer-controlled coil winding machine to set-up, wind, and insulate primary and/or secondary transformer coils.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure punctual attendance.
• Idenitfy coil part numbers and quantities from Run Sheet, retrieve necessary small parts, and input part numbers on the computer-controlled coil winding maching during set up.
• Accurately interpret winding specifications.
• Set up coil winding machine following specifications on the setup screen, including mandrel size, duct parts, insulation tape type, etc.
• Install and adjust devices on the machine to meet window sizing specification, load strip, conductor, and insulation paper onto dereeling mechanisms.
• Measure materials, make adjustment, and verify alignment.
• Place and adjust coil form according to specifications.
• Activate the machine to feed materials and follow instructions on the run screen for various functions.
• Wind coils at specified rate per hour.
• Label coils with ID number, work order number, part number, and clock number.
• Utilize measuring devices including but not limited to hydraulic tools, hand tools, brazing, soldering, pliers, scissors, rubber hammer, ratchet, wrenches, and bending tools.
• Perform rework on damaged or defective coils to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct minor adjustments and routine upkeep of winding machines.
• Weigh and log scrap metal in the database and follow proper disposal proctocols.
• Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. Adheres to safety protocols and ensures efficient material handling.
• Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
• Adhere to safety protocols, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
• Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Fulfill other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education level required

• No education required.

Years and area of experience required

• Relevant work experienced preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.

Skills:

Technical knowledge
Works from quality and production standards and computerized winding sheets/prints to interpret coil specifications accurately.
Perform basic mathematical functions as required.

Soft skills
Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton's Values and Philosophy.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to flip various sized units up to and including 40 lbs.
• Perform physical tasks such as frequent bending, stooping, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and use both hands and upper extremities to lift / lower materials and perform tasks of a repetitive nature with or without reasonable accomodation.
