About the Role 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Insights to drive growth in our Corporate business   through excellence in customer communications, data analysis, and product expertise. In this pivotal role, you will empower customers to unlock the full potential of CE’s data through customized presentations and exceptional support.  

In addition, you will take the lead on complex projects and customer engagements, working collaboratively across departments to shape innovative product strategies and enhance our offerings. Lastly, you’ll play a key role in driving team productivity, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and positioning yourself as a commercial expert and industry thought leader. Responsibilities 

Customer Support: 

  • Assist Corporate customers in leveraging data to perform analysis and address key questions by understanding business needs, customizing messaging for specific roles, and recommending relevant dashboards and queries. 
  • Explain how real-world factors can impact data interpretation and guide necessary adjustments.  

Customer Engagement: 

  • Deliver presentations that connect datasets to real-world trends, emphasizing actionable insights. 
  • Lead complex customer calls, addressing diverse data needs and leveraging financial, technical, and industry knowledge. 

Business Acquisition: 

  • Understand the unique needs, challenges, and use cases of prospects and customers to support the Sales and Customer Success teams to secure new Corporate clients, drive upselling of premium products, and facilitate cross-selling across product lines and regions.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Customer Success teams to strategically deliver presentations at key stages throughout the customer lifecycle, including trial, subscription, and renewal phases. 

 Industry Expertise: 

  • Review and interpret information from company reports, presentations, and news reports to enhance data effectiveness.
  • Analyze company commentary, news reports, and industry trends to understand real-world impacts on the data.   

Content Creation & Product Development: 

  • Create public-facing content showcasing CE’s data insights for Corporate use cases 
  • Collaborate with the Product, Technology, and Customer Solutions teams by sharing the customer’s perspective, aiming to improve conversion, reduce churn, and shorten the subscription cycle. 

Team Leadership: 

  • Mentor and train team members in customer communication, data analysis, and product expertise.
  • Oversee customer interactions and provide guidance on professional development and goal setting.
  • Tailor team objectives to support complex and customized client interactions to win and retain business. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  •  8+ years’ experience in market intelligence, insights, or analytics for a major retailer or consumer-facing company, with a background in retail consulting or sell-side equity/credit research.  
  • Proven ability to analyze business trends and solve complex customer challenges.
  • Strong experience presenting to both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Python is a plus. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, establishing trust and credibility with decision-makers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with creativity in overcoming sales challenges.
  • Collaborative, able to work effectively with internal teams (marketing, product development, customer success).
