PHINIA Combustion-Technology Leader

BorgWarner's Fuel Systems and Aftermarket business PHINIA is intended to separate from BorgWarner in late 2023.

PHINIA will be a product leader in fuel systems and aftermarket distribution with balanced and synergistic exposure among Commercial Vehicle (CV), Light Vehicle (LV) and Aftermarket end markets, with embedded relationships with global OEMs and a focus on the global vehicle parc.

As well as being an industry leader in combustion technologies and chassis systems PHINIA will also be driving the transition to green fuels and hydrogen combustion by developing effective solutions to decarbonize the future of transportation.

Job purpose

Reporting to the Treasurer, the Director of Treasury will perform a key role in building, developing, and providing leadership to a newly created global Treasury organization. This position is an exciting opportunity to help build a world class team and to implement strategies, policies, and procedures related to the Treasury function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all domestic and international treasury operations.
  • Provide leadership and talent development for the Treasury Organization.
  • Oversee all cash and treasury related functions, including cash positioning, cash pooling, cash reporting and payment processing.
  • Develop a cash flow forecasting model to efficiently manage the liquidity requirements for domestic and international operations.
  • Oversee cash management banking relationships and negotiate bank and service fees.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain global bank account structures.
  • Implement hedging programs for foreign exchange and interest-rate risk exposures and manage the ongoing hedge accounting responsibilities.
  • Manage other various treasury requirements including debt compliance, letters of credit, bank guarantees and credit rating agency updates.
  • Maintain treasury controls and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a monthly reporting package for the Executive Leadership Team on the Company's liquidity and key cash management operating metrics.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related discipline. MBA strongly preferred. CFA, CTP or CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum 12 years of combined experience in treasury, corporate finance, or accounting (with a minimum of seven years in treasury) with a demonstrated history of progression.
  • Prior experience working in the Automotive or Industrial global manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with cash management, banking administration, debt compliance, risk management and hedging with derivatives.
  • Expert at liquidity management and strategic cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience working with Treasury related systems and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, US GAAP accounting, and financial modelling.
  • Skilled at managing both domestic and international banking relationships.
  • Strong financial, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated experience developing high performing teams.
  • Ability to effectively partner with other functional areas throughout the organization, including Corporate Reporting, Tax, Audit and Legal.
