Magnite's video ad server is utilized by some of the biggest CTV publishers, TV manufacturers and platforms around the world. We run a globally distributed ad serving system that handles 100's of billions of requests a day. Our ad server executes a real time auction that brings in all of the possible advertising demand, in order to achieve the greatest possible revenue per second in an ad break.
In this role you will:

• Work on leading edge applications from the ground up.
• Be responsible for various project initiatives to improve the delivery of hundreds of billions of transactions per day through our real time ad server
• You will work alongside our lean team of well-rounded experienced engineers to drive full features across the entire stack
• Develop new tools and technologies in the video ad serving space
• Assess and continuously improve the development lifecycle
• Play a key part in influencing the direction of our products and technology choices
• Will lead development efforts, critique designs and solutions and solve problems
• Provide senior thought leadership to deliver target software architecture blueprints and recommendations for the evolution of the technology stack.

We're looking for someone with:

• At least 10 + years experience of software development and architecture in Java with knowledge of Vertx, OOP, Multi-threaded/Concurrent in large scale high availability systems
• Extensive experience with real time key value stores (for example: Aerospike, Redis)
• Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining mission critical distributed systems in AWS
• Demonstrable experience working in an agile environment using various software engineering methodologies
• Demonstrable leadership, visionary accomplishments, and extensive experience in developing software technologies and architectures implemented in large-scale/mission-critical deployments
• A passion for software engineering and architecture
• The drive to execute and ship code
• A strong sense of ownership and thought leadership
• Experience working in the ad-tech industry
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to context shift and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to engage with stakeholders, product managers, engineers, and leadership at all levels
• Previous architectural experience building high qps globally distributed systems

In California, the base salary range for this position is: $180,000 - $200,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
