EHS Specialist (f/m/d)

Avantor is looking for an EHS Specialist (f/m/d) to join our team in Leuven. In this role, your goal will be to keep our people safe through effective EHS leadership, support, compliance audits and by delivering essential training for our on-site teams and departments.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to be the point of contact for Environmental Health, Safety, Security & Sustainability (EHSS&S) best practice, escalations and day-to-day coordination for various departments across the site.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 (38 hours/week)

What we are looking for

Education: Higher education (preferably) and Prevention Advisor Level 2 certificate

Experience:

• Previous EHS experience gained in a warehousing or distribution environment
• Experienced internal auditor (ISO:45001 & ISO:14001)

Language skills: Fluent communication in Dutch and English – please apply with an English CV!

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Develop our sites in accordance with the EHSS&S organizational policy in Belgium
• Coordinate the induction and training process regarding the Seveso III regulations
• Support with your technical expertise for the application of process safety
• Enter and monitor EHS processes and documentation for the distribution and logistics departments
• Conduct EHSS&S audits against a developed program
• Support and coordinate incident and observational safety investigations using root cause analysis techniques
• Enhance site sustainability by optimizing recycling operations
• Maintain records and documented information related to the EHSS&S function
