GL accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. EMEA Accountant main responsabilities are to book and to reconcile the records with the bank statements, to make sure that the transactions instructed by treasury are correctly recorded in the ledgers. EMEA Accountant will record the netting payments and will make sure that the netting GLs are reconciled every month for each partner. Will support with limited fixed assets activities and audit requests.

Responsibilities:

• Complete and accurate accounting of all the banking transactions including cash pool / loan remittances, hedges, currency / interest rate swaps and manual payments
• Up-to-date accounting of all the bank accounts in Garrett Motion Sarl including the low volume entities (holding / dormant) and low volume accounts (deposits / restricted cash)
• Monthly reconciliation of bank balances with treasury balance as well as bank statement
• Preparation of monthly account reconciliations
• Posting of netting statement and clearing of netting payments
• Collaborate with treasury, P2P and C2C teams to ensure transitory accounts e.g. Autokonto or cash in transit are cleared by month end
• Proofing the balance in transitory accounts, if any
• Assist in rectification of cash pool or loan balances
• Restricted Fixed assets accounting activities, support with capitalizations, disposals and budget allocations
• Support the annual US GAAP / statutory / SOX audits
• Posting of monthly payroll and corresponding payments
• Seek opportunities for central testing, automatization and process efficiencies

We Need:

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant

• 2-5 years of experience with general ledger, banking and fixed assets functions

• Fluent in English
• Knowledge of SAP FI module is must
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Motivated, proactive in identifying issues along with recommending issue resolution
• Flexible about work content, timings and location
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
• Works independently, only exceptionally requires supervision.
• Process and results oriented.
• Reliable and consistent.
