Engineering Manager

ActiveCampaign’s Engineering Managers have varying technical backgrounds and interests and are heavily involved in the technical details of their team. As a manager, your main focus would be keeping your teams efficient and executing on the right goals. What your day could consist of:

• Contribute to and implement on the organization’s vision and standards around security, quality, observability and clean code.
• Lead a team of talented Engineers who like to ship code and tackle engineering problems.
• Collaborate with peers in customer success, marketing and product to understand business and technical needs.
• Maintain rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
• Identify and execute on opportunities to continuously improve the team’s ability to meet customers’ needs.
• Support legacy and modern services and applications in the public cloud and deploy them through CI/CD practices.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, inclusivity, innovation, learning, respect and transparency while holding a high bar for craftsmanship.

What is needed:

• 5+ years of management experience in a hands-on technical leadership role.
• BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience architecting, building and deploying scalable applications in the cloud using CI/CD practices in one of the following languages: C#, Ruby, or similar language.
• Solid database experience in SQL, NoSQL and event streaming technologies.
• Experience solving challenging technical problems with a focus on throughput and fast response time.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changes in business requirements and work in an agile environment.
• Must be comfortable leading initiatives and presenting ideas, in a remote environment.
• Prior experience in distributed systems and large scale engineering challenges.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.
