This job collaborates with business unit managers and organizational leadership to review, evaluate, analyze and provide possible solutions and recommendations to maintain an effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Assists with the design and execution of a risk assessment to identify key risks and opportunities in the control environment. Communicates with different stakeholders and leads several projects related to enterprise risk.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 2 years of experience in healthcare compliance, operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, law, or similar field.

Preferred - 2 years of experience with healthcare corporate compliance, project management or risk management.

Certifications

Preferred - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or other related certification.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Analytical skills and ability to read and comprehend complex documents, gather information, understand problems, and seek out cause-and-effect relationships that identify underlying issues or problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds, of all ages, and at all levels within and outside the organization in a positive, effective manner.
  • Basic knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategic concepts, applicable laws and regulations, compliance, effective risk management techniques and auditing.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to perform work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel regionally to various sites.

Job Duties

  • Supports the development of corporate strategies to improve risk reporting and analysis using data and technology.
  • Maintains input or data quality of risk management systems to enhance reporting tools, including risk reporting mechanism.
  • Collaborates across multiple stakeholders and organizations.
  • Gathers and analyzes risk-related data from internal and external resources.
  • Supports business units in the development of action plans to remediate any heightened risk resulting from ERM risk assessments and identify opportunities to improve internal controls.
  • Identifies and resolves project related issues and escalates as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining an effective enterprise risk management program by ensuring that all performance, documentation, follow-up and organization is conducted in accordance with department standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
