EV Charging Systems VAR Sales & Support Manager Southwest

Rhombus Energy Solutions (A BorgWarner Company) is a leader in the exciting market of electric vehicle charging systems as well as advanced applications for power conversion systems such as inverters and microgrids. Rhombus has developed and UL certified multiple bi-directional EV charging solutions that turn heavy duty EV's into energy storage assets for our customers and the utilities that serve them.

In addition, our bi-directional charging stations, plus compatible EV's, can offer a resilient source of local "microgrid" power if the larger grid experiences interruptions. We are the industry leader in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies and proud to manufacture and certify all or our products in the USA.

Cars, trucks and buses produce nearly one-fifth of America's greenhouse-gas emissions (GHGs), all of which must be eliminated to achieve the federal target of net-zero emissions by 2050. In response, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) provides $7.5 billion to develop the country's EV-charging infrastructure. The goal is to install 500,000 public chargers-publicly accessible charging stations compatible with all vehicles and technologies-nationwide by 2030. However, even the addition of half a million public chargers could be far from enough. In a scenario in which half of all vehicles sold are zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) by 2030-in line with federal targets-we estimate that America would require over 1M EV public chargers to meet future EV demands.

We are expanding our sales team to meet the once in a generation demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aggressively seek and acquire target customers in your market and negotiate and secure orders for Rhombus products and services.
  • Respond to request for quotes (RFQ) and requests for information (RFI).
  • Deliver best in class customer service and responsiveness to customer requests.
  • Foster partnerships and sales channels with value-add resellers in respective markets
  • Work with Rhombus sales leadership to close national accounts by providing local support.
  • Characterize and improve sales strategies and programs to increase topline sales while maintaining margin targets.
  • Use analytical tools to create leads and prospects, while tracking all opportunities with Rhombus Energy Solutions customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Successfully secure topline growth and contribute to business goals.
  • Self-starter and able to represent Rhombus company and brand in local market

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years selling experience in EV, automotive or commercial vehicle infrastructure and business development.
  • Track record for EV business contacts, growing topline sales and closing deals within defined territory.
  • Knowledge and strong interest in electric vehicle market
  • Team player, self-starter, commitment to meeting deadlines, high attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • B.S. required, business, science or engineering preferred

First 30 days:

  • Work closely and shadow the Head of Sales, EV Charging Systems to get up to speed on current Rhombus products and services
  • Familiarization with Rhombus quoting, CRM and sales process.
  • Work closely with other internal teams to develop sales presentations, both in generic and prospect specific form for target market.
  • Deliver go to market, sales plan, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to meet sales quota for defined territory.

By 90 days:

  • First point of contact for all sales opportunities from prospecting, qualification and closing for direct customer and value add resellers for Rhombus in defined markets.
  • Create pipeline opportunities for 5 x quote as defined by business plan.
  • Execute on first quarter of sales plan as defined in go to market strategy and KPIs.

Location:

  • Midwestern USA - Greater Dallas or Houston or Austin Texas

Travel:

  • This position requires 35% travel.
