Events Lead

We’re looking for our first-ever individual to be our Events Manager to join the Employee Experience team. We want you to bring your events expertise and help us create amazing experiences for our employees globally. In this role, you’ll oversee a variety of events that include both in-person and virtual. One special perk for employees is an event we call “Camp Fivetran” where we invite every employee around the globe to a fun and fabulous location to strengthen both our culture and our core value of “1 Team 1 Dream.” In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead this critical company event, working closely alongside our cofounders, executive leadership and other teams across Fivetran. Your priority will be to produce internal events, but there may be opportunities to work on external events as well. 

In this role you will:

Project management: Ability to identify and manage all components of events, including producing detailed proposals with timelines, venue details, staffing and equipment needs. Produce events that are on-time and within budget. Conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners, escalate risks and challenges appropriately with key stakeholders, and provide timely project updates. Skilled at being able to envision and deliver creative events with frugality.

Vendor management: Deep experience with managing event vendor relationships and contracts, with detailed knowledge about specific line items to evaluate what things are nice to have vs. must haves for each event, based on the objectives. 

Onsite/day-of management: Provide hands-on management on event day (when possible). For global events, work with our Workplace team to make sure someone is onsite and responsible for ensuring the event goes smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Deep hands-on experience in directly managing events from planning to execution, experience in tech industry preferred
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to multitask
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Previous experience working closely with event management vendors, overseeing everything from contract negotiations, event design details, and day-of logistics
