About your team

Fidelity invests heavily in technology to support the business need and an opportunity has become available within the Services Development and Support department. The GPS Data Team is responsible for developing new, and supporting existing, middle tier integration services and business services, and is committed to driving forwards the development of leading-edge solutions aligned to data management best practice. The Services are consumed by Fidelity web sites (e.g., Adviser Workstation, End Investor), Call Centre Workstations, various pensions & other back-office processing systems, and are used across Europe and India, for both Retail & Workplace business.

About your role
Expert engineer is a seasoned technology expert who is highly skilled in programming, engineering and problem-solving skills. They can deliver value to business faster and with superlative quality. Their code and designs meet business, technical, non-functional and operational requirements most of the times without defects and incidents.

About you

• Having good experience in enterprise application development primarily in Java – Spring.
• Experience in scripting languages like Node.js/python will be advantageous.
• Experience of DevOps toolchain such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.
• Working knowledge of APIs, caching and messaging 
• You have excellent software designing, programming, engineering and problem-solving skills.
• Multiyear experience of developing & designing cloud native applications preferably targeted to Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Expertise of designing/developing applications which run on container (Docker) and systems which are composed of such application containers
• Hands on working knowledge around EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, VPC’s, Load Balancing, Networking in Cloud along with the tooling understanding in Cloud Environment.
• You are highly skilled and efficient with web / application development technologies like java and Node/python.
• A responsible engineer who views TDD & software engineering as a ‘craft’ with experience or special interest in ‘infrastructure as code’ through automation & continuous delivery.
• Understanding of Cloud Security & Access Control.
• Experience with Docker with any orchestration engine.
• Expertise in DevOps environment which includes, CI/CD tools and implementing pipelines.
• Ability, willingness & openness to experiment / evaluate / adopt with new technologies
• Passion for technology, engineering, problem solving and team working
• Build & optimize data pipelines, architecture & data sets supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
• Experience delivering on data related Non-Functional Requirements like-
• Hands-on experience dealing with large volumes of historical data across markets/geographies.
• Manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
• Building water-tight data quality gates on investment management data
• Generic handling of standard business scenarios in case of missing data, holidays, out of tolerance errors etc.
