About the Role:
Growing any business as rapidly as we are is both exciting and challenging. To help continue scaling the business, we're looking for a Finance and Corporate Development Associate to join our team.
The Finance and Corporate Development Associate will work with the CFO and Head of Corporate Development to evaluate and analyze various potential transformative opportunities at Industrious. This is an exciting role that sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations. A typical day could include evaluating potential M&A opportunities (recently acquired two companies internationally), evaluating equity and debt fundraising opportunities (recently raised $100mm), advising on cross-functional strategic and operational initiatives (where and how should Industrious grow next?). Given the strategic importance of the role, you will have direct exposure to all C-level executives including helping to prepare for Board of Director meetings.
As the Finance and Corporate Development Associate, you will:
- Support the company’s growth strategy with through M&A
- Aid in the identification, assessment and execution of potential mergers and acquisitions
- Aid in the process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, which includes a rigorous idea generation and screening process
- Conduct financial and valuation analysis based on your diligence of potential acquisitions
- Help prepare proposals and negotiate terms
- Support the Capital Markets process
- Support the equity (and debt) fundraising process (including identifying potential investors, preparing investor presentations, negotiating with investors, etc.)
- Help in the preparation of external communications to the financial community, such as road show presentations
- Work with the CFO in cost-effectively financing the Company’s growth needs
- Interface with cross-functional teams for special projects/assignments as directed by the CFO and Head of Corporate Development
- Diverse mix of assignments including evaluating strategic landscape, network strategy, product roadmap and public market trends
- Partner with operations, strategy, real estate, FP&A, product, and analytics to spearhead key initiatives
- Interface with international divisions to support the Company's overall growth
The role is based in New York City and reports directly to the company’s Head of Corporate Development. Mix of in-person and remote work accepted
You are a great fit for this role if:
- You have a solid understanding of finance and accounting.
- Practical experience in any of the following: M&A, forecasting, FP&A, accounting, deal structuring, and/or valuation
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial information and the ability to accurately explain/report activity in verbal and written communications.
- You’ve built complex Excel projection models before. You know what it means to build a model that is flexible and that can analyze different scenarios quickly
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- You can work quickly and efficiently to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- It doesn’t phase you when you’ve been tasked to do something you have never done before. You’re resourceful, have excellent critical thinking skills, and are confident you can figure it out.
- Highly organized with excellent time management and communication skills. You're comfortable communicating any key questions and providing progress updates
- Thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative working style; Want to be a part of a positive, dynamic work culture and team environment
