Job Description
Summary
The Finance and Planning Analyst identifies trends and opportunities within the outdoor industry rental and retail business sector to provide data-driven insights and solutions. This role is part of the business team, and is responsible for rental/retail product forecast and replenishment as well as financial planning and analysis (FP&A) including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing all areas of the business. This role will work closely with various branches of the Rental/Retail Division including the Buying Team, Merchandising, Store Operations and Warehouse Operations.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,800 - $85,540. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.Â

Finance FunctionsÂ
- Partner with Rental/Retail purchasing, warehouse, and store operations to prepare, consolidate, and track annual budgets.Â
- Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models that support business operations and strategic initiatives.Â
- Present and effectively communicate data-driven insights to influence and inform strategic decisions.Â
- Compile capital projects requests, build and analyze ROI models, and assist in submission presentations. Own tracking capital spend progress to budget for approved projects, highlighting risks proactively.Â
- Oversee rental and retail pricing trends locally, regionally, and nationally and provide recommendations on adjustments that balances in driving volume and profitability.Â
- Perform monthly and annual variance analysis to assess performance and develop forecasts.Â
- Build presentations for Senior Leadership that summarize business resultsÂ
- Perform ad hoc analyses and reports including, but not limited to:Â
- Statistical analysisÂ
- Economic reportsÂ
- Industry benchmarking & competitive analysesÂ
- Pricing scenariosÂ
Planning FunctionsÂ
- Produce, review and distribute sales, purchasing, receiving and inventory reports on a weekly basis and as necessary in support of the Buying and Merchandising Teams, Store Operations and Warehouse Operations.Â
- Assist Purchasing and Planning manager with creating an Open-to-Buy process and toolset that allows the business to build accurate budgets 18-24 months out.Â
- Create rental volume forecasts based on visitation forecasts and rental pricing. Leverage modeling to provide rental buy plans for the purchasing team to execute against.Â
- Oversee and maintain Replenishment Systems for store transfers and vendor orders to ensure timely and efficient supply of product.Â
- Assist Buying Team with purchasing activities as needed, including Ad-hoc Vendor Replenishment, and database maintenance.Â
- Assist in stores during peak holiday seasons and special events.Â
- Perform other duties as requested.Â

Qualifications
- BA/BS degrees in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting requiredÂ
- Minimum of two years’ experience in business finance or planning analysis, retail finance and planning experience preferredÂ
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures and conceptsÂ
- Ability to work with and build relationships with employees at all levels throughout the CompanyÂ
- Relevant experience in ski or resort rental/retail operations desiredÂ
- Proven advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience in financial modeling, including DCFs, sensitivity analyses, and budgetsÂ
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and PowerPivotÂ
- Understanding of relational databasesÂ
- SQL, VBA, Python or similar programming languages a plusÂ
- Experience with Financial and Point of Sale systems (i.e. NetSuite, PowerBI, RTP, JD Edwards, Hubble, Spreadsheet Server)Â

Supervision given and received
Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of the Managing Director, Four Mountain Sports. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.Â
