Position Overview:Â
As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team, you will be working by the water, with our large variety fleet of boats, as a customer-focused team member! Freedom Boat Club is the nation’s oldest and largest private member boat club, and we are looking for friendly and upbeat individuals to greet members and work on the docks. This position is part-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Â

Essential Functions:

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standardsÂ
-
Anticipate and address guests’ service needsÂ
-
Thank guests with genuine appreciationÂ
-
Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquetteÂ
-
Manage the check-in and check-out process using a handheld tabletÂ
-
Perform equipment checks to make sure all necessary equipment is functional and on boardÂ
-
Clean and maintain vessels and Club location according to company standardsÂ
-
Complete daily clerical work to prepare reservation system, fuel logs and weather reportsÂ
-
Familiarize yourself with local waters in order to provide basic guidance to membersÂ
-
Speak with others using clear and professional languageÂ
-
Ensure your uniform and personal appearance are clean and professionalÂ
-
Follow all company policies and proceduresÂ
-
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary informationÂ
-
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisorsÂ
-
Work outside in the state’s elements and stand for an extended period of timeÂ
Â

Required Qualifications:Â

Pass a background check and drug screenÂ

Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving recordÂ
-
Be at least 18 years of ageÂ
-
Ability to regularly complete the physical demands of the role including bending, kneeling, balancing and carrying equipment up to 25 poundsÂ
-
Ability to read and manipulate handheld tabletsÂ
-
Availability to regularly work weekdays, weekends and holidaysÂ
-
Ability to adhere to all safety policiesÂ

Preferred Qualifications:Â

Experience in or around boatsÂ
-
Strong communication and customer service skillsÂ
-
Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activityÂ

Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervisedÂ

Working Conditions:Â

Work outdoors and in various weather conditions for an extended period of timeÂ

Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floatingÂ
-
Work near and on the waterÂ
-
Safely move on, off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditionsÂ
Â
Range of pay for this position is $13.00 - $17.00/hr.Â
The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge /skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.Â
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.Â
