Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for supporting the Distribution Center in all areas related to the Human Resources function including but not limited to recruitment, new hire onboarding, employee relations, leave administration, as well as the accurate and timely reporting of information to employees and management of the company.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the full recruitment cycle, including posting job openings, Initial screening of applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks and drug tests. Works with department managers to identify staffing needs.
• Coordinates onboarding for new employees, ensuring they are set up with necessary tools, documentation, and orientation.
• Assists with the preparation and maintenance of employee compensation records and supports payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Manages and updates employee records in HR software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Assists with coordination of employee events and engagement programs
• Assists in explaining policies to new and existing employees
• Serves as a liaison between corporate benefits team and employees to provide timely information to ensure proper leave administration and proper implementation of benefits. 
• May be asked to support additional office administrative work related to DC operations.

• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations in a professional manner while accomplishing multiple tasks and meeting required deadlines.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite
• Team player and able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees within the company
• Detail oriented with strong initiative

Experience/ Education

• Minimum 2 years related work experience required
• Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
• High School Diploma required
• 2- or 4-year college degree in Human Resources or Business focus preferred
