Are you a data or business process enthusiast with a passion for helping staff navigate HR processes and programs in an sophisticated Human Resource Information System (HRIS)? NREL is looking for an Workday HRIS Analyst I, to join our team and be a key contributor in the maintenance of our Workday Eco-system.
This role is required to do Tier One troubleshooting for end users, mainly by monitoring the Workday email alias and assisting any walk-up customers. This role is responsible for running existing reports within the system to facilitate HRIS reporting, workforce data analytics and administration. The analyst will need to create custom reports and modify existing reports as needed if an existing report does not meet the needed criteria.Â
- Delivers excellent customer service to exacting client groups. And, provides day to day HCM systems administration and support activities including monitoring the Workday email alias to provide help to end users.
- Provides system and best practice guidance to stakeholders based on established business processes and administration of assigned HR supported programs by accurately resolving self-service transactions inquiries, such as new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. This requires an understanding of the transaction intent, appropriateness of coding values, workflow and down stream triggers to other stakeholders.
- Maintains integrity, security and accuracy of HR data and systems.Â
- Addresses Workday HCM data requests from internal HR customers (e.g. Talent Acquisition Team, HR Business Partners, Compensation Team, etc.).
- Utilized establish reports or data extract practices to help produce monthly, quarterly, and annual staffing count, turnover and workforce reports. And, provides NREL specific workforce data reporting for HR Director, HR customers, and compliance. This includes transforming data set into established visuals for presentations used by the HR Director, National Lab HR, and Alliance HR Compensation Committee.
- Creates and updates Workday learning guide materials.
- Assists with basic configuration enhancements.
- Assists in evaluating, testing, and implementing Workday system upgrades and enhancements.
- Assists with creating, organizing and delivering Workday training to internal end users. This includes presenting at New Hire Orientation.
- Assists with troubleshooting Workday production/data issues (HCM, Learning, Benefits, Performance, Time Tracking). And, maintain confidentiality and discretion; provides data on a need-to-know basis.Â
- Assists with data entry and other HR operational work as necessary.
- Supports and participates in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities by seeking first to understand through active listening, soliciting feedback, valuing, and incorporating diverse perspectives, into the work and team environment.

Basic QualificationsRelevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience. Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards. Basic knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use various computer software programs.

Additional Required Qualifications
- General functional working HR experience including understanding of HR Systems and reporting.
- One or more years of relevant experience - utilizing a fully integrated HRIS/Payroll system like PeopleSoft, Ultipro, Workday.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills including intermediate level Excel skills.
- Analytical skills and professional written and oral communication, team oriented and problem-solving skills.
- Â Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories and concepts.
- Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Basic knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)Job Profile: Professional I / Annual Salary Range: $63,600 - $104,900
