Job Summary

Under limited direction, responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to business unit or corporate functional area which may include recruiting, selection, and staffing, employment and personnel documentation, job evaluation, compensation, and benefits. Acts as a liaison between departments/divisions, all levels of line and staff management, compensation and benefits department, legal counsel, and outside service providers. May coach less-experienced Human Resources specialists.

In this role, you will report to the Sr. HR Manager and will work closely with Avantor's Clinical Services teams to develop and execute the different HR programs.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) is required
  • Experience: 3 -5 years of experience in Human Resources for a medium to large size corporate is required
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Requires experience within operations, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain or warehouse environments
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle associate conflicts and differences by interpreting verbal/ non-verbal behavior, detecting perceptions and needs of associates, understanding and valuing associate differences
  • Requires working knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

How you will thrive and create an impact

As the HR Manager, you will work closely with the site functional business leaders and associates to support key HR processes and programs.

  • Primary responsibilities and focus of the role are providing day-to-day support to functional line leaders and associates within Avantor, and administer HRIS tasks.
  • Assists the Sr. HR Manager to implement key strategic HR processes and programs.
  • Helps support and champion organizational change and talent initiatives as necessary.
  • Supports with employee relation investigations, as needed, and facilitates effective communications and collaborative problem solving strategies to prevent or resolve employee relations issues.
  • Works with line leaders on talent management processes such as goal setting and providing appropriate support during the performance management (PMP) process, in support of a performance driven culture.
  • Creates HR analytics to identify trends and opportunities; assists Sr. HR Manager to develop strategies and tactics based on those trends.
  • Participates in functional staff meetings and provides HR insights on business issues when necessary.
  • Assists in projects and/or participates as a project team member on company-wide HR initiatives.
  • Assists in implementing Avantor HR policies and procedures as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these programs. Assists assigned functional teams with the understanding of these programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
