Job Description

About Mighty:

We’re redesigning the recovery process after an accident to ensure injured people get the legal, financial, mental health, and medical support they need to get back on their feet. As a consumer-centric tech startup, we’re doing it all in a way that challenges the bad behavior that exists in the traditional personal injury industry.

Our team at Mighty is full of talented individuals from top technology startups, insurance, law, and health tech companies who are eager to fix a broken system. We’re transparent and honest in our communication, we’re obsessed with building the best service for our customers, and we aren’t afraid to let our quirkiness and nerdiness shine through.

We’ve come a long way since launching but we’re just getting started - and we need your help to continue making access to holistic support after an accident more transparent, more accessible, and more just.

Mighty is looking to bring on an experienced individual to support our efforts in providing financing to the personal injury space. The Bodily Injury Adjuster will be responsible for reviewing personal injury cases and analyzing financial opportunities. You will work closely with the Finance and Client Experience teams to parse through claims and data that will leverage Mighty’s best in class technology and access to capital markets.  This role is a great opportunity for someone knowledgeable in claims best practices and excited to turn that expertise into an opportunity to analyze case data and share their learnings and expertise with a multifunctional team. This is a fully remote role (US Only).

What you’ll do:

  • Analyze Insurance Policies and Contracts and other related  to determine available and applicable coverage on liability claims
  • Review injury records, wage reports and other medical documentation to assess and value various types of personal injury to assist in pricing, investment, and valuation decisions
  • Read contracts and other legal documents to better inform underwriting decisions and manage company risk
  • Operate independently, managing a caseload and meeting various deadlines of portfolios needing analyses
  • Thoroughly investigate files, document information related to your review of cases and make decisions consistent with internal standards and local laws

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in a quantitative field of study
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in Liability Claims Handling or Risk Underwriting and Analysis, with a preference for familiarity within the Personal Injury and Insurance Claims space
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies, contracts, credit and financial documents
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and articulate routine as well as complex tort law liability scenarios involving various types of claims
  • Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities as well as an understanding of credit underwriting and loan documentation
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in establishing and maintaining working relationships, solving problems, and delivering a high level of accuracy, focus and timeliness with limited supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs/Products

Interview Plan:

Our interview process is a two way street! The overall process is split over four stages totaling 3 hours and is intended to give you an opportunity to speak with key members of the team that you’d be working most closely with. The interview process is structured as follows:

  • A screening call with our Talent Acquisition team (15 min)
