Intermediate Frontend Engineer

At Seedworld Studios, we're on a mission to revolutionize the gaming experience with our upcoming AAA metaverse game, Seedworld, which combines the enchanting worlds of Fantasy and Steampunk. Seedworld Studios is seeking a talented and passionate Intermediate Frontend Engineer to join our Product Engineering department. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our product application that supports one of the biggest metaverse projects in the industry. You will report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

- Goal Ownership & Delivery: Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to team objectives with timely and quality delivery. Proactively raise concerns about inefficiencies or risks and propose solutions to enhance team performance.

- Frontend Development: Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly applications using React and Next.js. Write clean, maintainable code while adhering to established best practices in TypeScript and JavaScript.

- Collaboration on Roadmaps: Actively contribute to project roadmaps by voicing input and making informed trade-offs between technical and business needs. Evaluate and incorporate feedback to improve strategies and deliverables.

- Adaptability & Innovation: Adjust to shifting priorities and collaborate with managers to balance trade-offs effectively. Take the initiative to contribute innovative solutions that align with team objectives and user needs.

- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate proactively with team members, share relevant information, and participate constructively in team discussions. Foster open communication and encourage team input to improve decision-making.

- User-Centric Focus: Contribute to creating user-centered applications by collaborating with UI/UX designers. Ensure accessibility and responsiveness in delivered features, aligning with user expectations and requirements.

- Code Quality & Best Practices: Write well-structured, reusable code following coding standards and design patterns. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and support team learning.

- API Integration: Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs seamlessly into frontend applications. Handle third-party API integrations to enhance application functionality.

- System Design Input: Provide input on frontend architecture and contribute to creating scalable and maintainable solutions. Learn and apply design patterns to solve common challenges effectively.

- Monitoring & Optimization: Implement basic observability tools to monitor application performance and identify potential issues. Use data-driven insights to optimize frontend performance and user experience.

- Security Best Practices: Follow secure coding guidelines and report potential vulnerabilities proactively. Begin applying security practices to code to enhance application resilience.

- Professional Development: Take ownership of personal growth and actively seek out learning opportunities to expand expertise. Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and offering guidance when needed.

Team Structure

You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary product development team, including frontend/backend engineers, test engineers, UI/UX designers, product owners, and Web3 subject matter experts.

Requirements

- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development or a similar role.

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Basic familiarity with blockchain technologies, including ethers.js or similar libraries, is a plus. Understanding of performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.

- Web3 Knowledge: Knowledge or interest in the Web3 ecosystem, including wallet integrations, DeFi concepts (e.g., staking, farming), and decentralized applications.

- User-Centric Development: Experience working in user-focused environments, balancing technical requirements with exceptional user experience.

- Adaptability: Proven ability to manage changing priorities and ensure high-quality deliverables in fast-paced environments.

Desirable

- Exposure to tools like Sentry, Hypertune, or other monitoring/analytics platforms.

- Exposure to web3 libraries such as ethers, wagmi, Dynamic.xyz

- Basic understanding of secure coding principles and best practices.

- Familiarity with agile development workflows and Git-based version control.

- 100% remote

- Timezone: flexible, but working hours must be in the range between 9AM and 10PM (UTC time).
