Inventory Control Manager

The primary responsibilities of this position are inventory control and management within the distribution center. The Inventory Manager’s goal is overall inventory accuracy in the Distribution Center. They are responsible for performing audits, maintaining inventory records, and reporting on inventory status, as well as leading a team of direct reports in the inventory department.  

Note: Famous Supply Warehouse associates will handle large products such as water heaters, furnaces and showers. 

Primary Job Responsibilities 

• Manage and control inventory in the distribution center through the Warehouse Management System (WMS) 

• Resolve inventory inaccuracies 

• Conduct root-cause analysis to create long-term, sustainable inventory accuracy

• Perform inventory accuracy updates 

• Manage inventory team with Operational Excellence in mind 

• Review forward pick slots for correct SKU contents 

• Maintain new SKU forward pick slots based on item velocity (actual or projected) 

• Report to management any safety or maintenance issues 

• Informs management of any significant inventory discrepancies and backorders 

• Supports the corporate and branch Equal opportunity policies and practices 

• Conducts monthly 1-2-1's with direct reports 

• Review and approve inventory adjustments 

• Manage all inventory reports and dashboards 

Required Experience and Skills 

• Strong communication skills 

• Problem solving 

• Experience working in a warehouse 

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 

• Ability to stand on feet for majority of an 8-hour day 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

Preferred Experience and Skills 

• Leadership 

• Forklift experience 

• Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge 

• Experience using RF Scanners
