Being a Lead AI Software Engineer at iManage Means… 
You are excited about using cutting-edge research and technology to join forces with a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists and engineers in tackling a wide range of interesting problems in Artificial Intelligence. As a Lead AI Software Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and AI, focusing on building the systems for deploying, scaling and monitoring NLP and Gen AI applications in production as well as optimizing and improving the core document AI strategies.
You will have the opportunity to be immersed within our iManage product suite and gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle. You will learn about our Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and work with fellow engineers and data scientists on projects that directly impact our customers. 
You will operate with a continual learning focused mindset and have the opportunity to experiment with our data sets and contribute to core AI strategies at the heart of what we deliver. You will rely on a diverse AI/ML and software ecosystem to enhance our core enterprise products and leverage cutting edge AI tools and methods to build new products that serve our end users. You will be exposed to and learn other technologies and methods that the team uses on a day-to-day basis. This role starts as an individual contributor with the potential to grow into a leadership position, depending on team needs and the candidate’s impact.

iM Responsible For…

• Driving the technical strategy and architecture decisions for NLP and Gen AI applications, including training pipelines, and deployment infrastructure 
• Playing a pivotal role in shaping our AI strategy, creating prototypes, and rolling out AI solutions to production 
• Designing and implementing production-ready scalable NLP applications and APIs 
• Developing monitoring and observability solutions and integration testing frameworks 
• Collaborating with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into viable technical solutions 
• Taking ownership and seeing a project through to completion, asking for help where necessary
• Following best practices in leveraging CI/CD tools like Docker, GitHub Actions etc. 
• Mentoring team members and fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing 

iM Qualified Because I Have… 

• A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics or related field 
• 6+ years of experience in ML/AI engineering, or software engineering with expertise in NLP 
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, distributed training and a track record of building and deploying ML systems at scale 
• Solid understanding of AI system design principles and experience with ML/AIOps tools and best practices for model lifecycle management 
• Familiarity with modern NLP architectures, including transformer models and LLMs based applications in production 
• A passion for learning about and contributing to running a large-scale cloud-native Machine Learning platform 
• Extensive experience with programming language experience such as Python, Java, Scala etc. 
• Solid experience with ML frameworks such as Pytorch and Huggingface
• The ability to work in a team, collaborate with others to solve interesting problems that directly affect our customers 
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and written skills 

Bonus Points If I Have... 

• Experience with AI engineering tools and technologies for fine tuning and serving custom LLMs in production and with other Gen AI tools such as, Langchain, LlamaIndex 
• Experience working with Knowledge graphs based on text data

The overall US annual base salary range for this position is $122,000–$188,000. Individual compensation for each candidate depends on factors such as qualifications, experience, and candidate location. This range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, or benefits. Your recruiter will provide further details about the offer range, incentives, and overall compensation during the hiring process.
