We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of critical data infrastructure. What You Will Dođź’ˇ
- Database Management:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike etc.).
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.
- Performance Optimization:
- Monitor database performance and conduct tuning for optimal efficiency.
- Analyze query execution plans and optimize queries for speed and resource utilization.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain data security policies to protect sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry standards.
- Data Integrity and Backup:
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform regular testing of backups and recovery plans.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and data analysts to support database-related needs.
- Provide guidance on database design, normalization, and data modeling.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Develop scripts and tools for database monitoring, management, and automation.
- Implement solutions for repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact.
- Act as the escalation point for complex database-related problems.
What Are We Looking Forâť“
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike, Redis etc.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
- Experience with database monitoring tools.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, SQL scripting).
