What We’re Looking For

As the Product Design Lead at Pearl, you will drive the vision and execution of our design strategy. This role is a player-coach position and includes managing a team of designers and promoting a culture of innovation. Our product’s focus on workflow and healthcare requires a strong background in designing workflow applications and simplifying complex systems. You will report to the Chief Product Officer and collaborate across departments to ensure our design approach meets user needs and business goals.

Responsibilities

• Design visually elegant and clear interfaces that evolve Pearl’s brand identity and aesthetic.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.
• Develop and maintain right-sized design systems, style guides, and UI patterns to ensure consistency across products.
• Collaborate effectively in an agile environment with product managers and engineers to manage tradeoffs and ensure seamless implementation of designs. Monitor design quality after releases and ensure iterative design improvements are added to the backlog.
• Work with key stakeholders to identify and analyze opportunities to improve our products.
• Periodically present your work to teams, stakeholders and clients. Speak clearly to tradeoffs and the “Why” behind design decisions in terms non-designers can understand and participate in.
• Manage, role model, and mentor a team of IC Designer
• Drive vision for product language and content across our platform
• Prioritize effectively, use data to inform your decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seek input where needed to drive alignment on conflicting priorities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design for software applications, preferably in SaaS style software products.
• Strong portfolio showcasing beautiful, clear, user-centered design work.
• Excellent understanding of graphic design principles and human-computer interaction patterns
• Well-versed in Figma, especially using collaborative features, dev handoff, auto-layout, component libraries, prototyping, etc.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to articulate strategic reasoning behind design decisions and influence cross-functional teams.
• Past success working independently within the cross-functional team to manage, track, and communicate design project plans, milestones, and progress.
