Machining Operator ($28.24 - $29.34)

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Effectively operate and maintain three machines in any one class of machines (Screw, Rotary, or Davenport) at 80% productivity
• Make tool changes and adjustments on machines in any one class of machines (Screw, Rotary, or Davenport) and perform quick change tooling on machines in another class
• Complete independent measurements using micrometers, comparators and calipers
• Complete regular preventative maintenance on machines, including changing collets, checking stops and setting feed fingers
• Perform basic troubleshooting when machine problems occur as well as assist with identifying needed repairs
• Pull shift tickets and assist with cycle counts
• Responsible for crane operation
• Preset basic tooling for production machines
• Maintain accurate record keeping
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and tool zone
• Perform other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A bidder must successfully complete any job-related assessments required.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating and maintaining automatic machines
• Must be able to read and understand blue prints, as well as linear and diametrical dimensioning
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude as well as the ability to use measuring instruments and gauges accurately
• Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions and other production documentation
• Must have basic math skills (adding, subtraction, multiplication and division)
• Must become lock-out tag-out certified within 1 year
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lb load
• No disciplinary write-ups in the last 6 months
• Have less than two (2) incidents under the attendance policy
• Demonstrated positive work history through performance reviews
• Must be able to pass applicable assessments
