Context/Scope:

Seychelles Breweries has been operating in Seychelles since 1972 and is part of Diageo International.

SBL is proud of its heritage, growth of its brands and people.

It enjoys a market leader position as a premium drinks company but is facing an increasingly tough and challenging business environment.

SBL's operational activities include Manufacturing (Brewing & Packaging) of Beers, RTDs and Soft drinks, Marketing, Sales and Distribution (both SBL products and Diageo Spirits).

The Operations department's role is critical to ensure consistent supply of our products at the right time, volume, quality, and cost whilst keeping everybody on site safe.

• Ensuring glassware required for microbiological sampling are always available.
• Carry out sampling across site as per the sampling plans.
• Ensure culture media are always available for microbiological analysis, by preparing the media and carrying out quality controls checks on the prepared media.
• Daily verification and calibration of Microbiology equipment to provide accurate, reliable and reproducible results at all times.
• Responsible for the execution of the Microbiological Environmental Program across site.
• Sustain 5S, maintain safety and hygiene in the Media preparation room, sterilization room and main Microbiology laboratory.
• Ensure that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards are met and driving conformance to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. ISO/HACCP etc.) on shift
• Be an effective team member and team player.
• Provide support to the Microbiology team.
• Apply manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques (DMAIC project, RCPS, 5S) to improve performances)

• Preparing and sterilizing glassware required for microbiological sampling.
• Preparing and carrying out Quality Control checks on Culture media and supplements.
• Carrying out aseptic sampling across the site for microbiological analysis
• Carrying out weekly inventory of consumables and culture media
• Carrying out Microbiological Environmental Monitoring across site as per Coca Cola and Food Safety requirements.
• Supporting with microbiological analyses whenever required.
• Verifying microbiology laboratory equipment on daily basis
• Attending Level 1 and Level 2 meetings in Packaging and Brewing
• Conducting Audit as may require and implement corrective action generated from Audit
• Participating in 5-Why root cause problem solving and identifies root causes for performance improvements.
• Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards and compliance to maintenance regulatory standards at all times.

• Post-Secondary education preferably a Polytechnic graduate in Academic field with min A ‘Level in Biology and chemistry or qualified through experience.

• Minimum 1 year experience in an ISO 9001 environment, ideally in a Food industry
• Basic knowledge of General Laboratory practices
• Able to write and read
• Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills
• Good Computer literacy skill- able to use excel
