About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will manage the Manufacturing Product Development Plan for all Full Lamp Programs as assigned. Responsible for ensuring reliability and robustness of the product manufacturability in consideration of the lamp assembly, processing the molded and coated components and sourcing the purchased components. Maintain timing and manufacturing capital and tooling cost.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for tracking and reporting the efficiency and scrap of assigned programs and maintaining an open issues list with the corrective actions to improve the performance
- Co-ordinates pre-production activities with Materials and Operations to ensure tool trials and assembly builds are carried out to meet project deliverables.
- Co-ordinates purchased component deliverables with Purchasing.
- Facilitates solutions as relate to manufacturing engineering and quality.
- Temporarily fills organizational gaps to resolve open issues.
- Participation in a product development team from inception to manufacturing launch, including the DFMEA's
- Interprets customer expectations through Program Management
Who we are looking for
Knowledge and Education:
- University or College Degree in Engineering or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes used in Automotive lighting.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal the technical specifications and issues to facilitate solutions.
- Good understanding of organizational systems.
- Good understanding of manufacturing capabilities
- Able to direct and mentor team members
Your preferred qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience with Autosystems or equivalent in other manufacturing environment.
- Experience with various Maintenance and tooling activities, knowledge of product design, SAE, Quality and Production systems.
- Core Tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA & PPAP), Control Plans/Process Flows, Root Cause Analysis/Practical Problem Solving experience preferred.
