Job Description

As a network engineer you are responsible for the entire network infrastructure of Eurofiber Cloud Infra, which consists of a multiple vendor platform. The infrastructure that facilitates the entire Cloud Infra portfolio.

A quick overview of your potential new job

Currently the core exists of Dell switches with Cumulus on top. If you are comfortable with networking and with Linux it isn’t a big step. This year we have decided to move to Nokia because of various reasons. This involves that a lot of migrations need to be done the coming years. 

What are your responsibilities?

• Making and maintaining designs and diagrams
• Installing switches.
• Management on switches (think of updates and monitoring) 
• Innovation by means of automation and assistance with new solutions.
• Datacenter activities in order to repair, update or improve the infrastructure.

We do provide support to our customers and colleagues. This means solving issues that come in via tickets or calls. Support you will provide:

• Assistance in case of connectivity issues.
• Assistance with performance issues
• Assistance with configurations
• Assistance of technical consultants

24x7

Although customers can use the portal 24x7 we do not provide 24/7 support. We do however have 24/7 shifts in order to guarantee the continuity.

Qualifications

This is you

• Experience with and knowledge of L1 ( fiber optics en cabling, DWDM).
• Experience with and knowledge of L2 networks (VLAN’s, bridges, QinQ).
• Experience with and knowledge of L3 (incl routing protocols as BGP and OSPF).
• Experience with VXLAN would be appreciated.
• Comfortable with Linux.
• Understanding of VMWare and virtualisation.
• Scripting skills are appreciated (Python, Ansible, GNMI ).
• Understanding of MySQL and NGINX.
