Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven, innovative, and passionate leader to serve in the role of Assistant Operations Manager within our Quality Assurance Operations team for Brilliant Earth. The primary objectives of this position are to maximize efficiency, quality, and customer experience critical to Brilliant Earth’s success, while developing strong vendor relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring items and finished product meet Brilliant Earth’s quality standards. You will be an instrumental leader of our operations team, which is dedicated to delivering excellence from the time a customer places an order to the moment a customer opens their package.

This role is in-office at our Secaucus location.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure product supply chain is well developed and maintained to ensure a superior customer experience, timeliness, and a high level of efficiency.
  • Quality assure incoming products to ensure the highest quality standard is met by vendors.
  • Maintain product security controls and ensure inventory accuracy is tracked throughout the product flow.
  • Formulate and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of business.
  • Proactively seek and deliver process improvements to improve department efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks and resources to ensure operations run smoothly, including the use of forecasts to capacity plan the team’s workload and implement real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with leading team members, including training and measuring team success via metrics.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, team-oriented, and high-energy culture

Specific qualifications include:

  • BA degree or equivalent, preferred
  • Experience with inventory/ supply chain/ production in a product, retail, or e-commerce company
  • Experience leading or managing teams, including setting and achieving goals
  • Robust technical / computer skills, including working knowledge of ERP/inventory systems (NetSuite a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to drive improved team performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Highly organized with a focus on execution, problem-solving, and improving processes
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
  • Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible environment
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team culture
