Description

Responsible for scheduling outpatient imaging services including: CT; MRI; Ultrasound; Nuclear Medicine; Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Responsible for obtaining payer authorization for imaging procedures to be scheduled. Responsible for the acquisition and distribution of clinically specific referrals, lab reports and history and physical reports to the appropriate imaging departments. Expected to creatively manipulate schedules to allow for optimal technologist/room/radiologist productivity - revenue generation. Assure that billing has the appropriate service authorizations. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are vital.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training in Medical Terminology
  • 1 year Medical clerical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Medical Services or completions of two year vocational program with emphasis on medical services
  • 1 year Medical scheduling experience with a radiology focus
