This job assumes responsibility for providing the continuity of clinical operations of all computerized information and imaging systems. Administers the day-to-day operations of systems, including performing daily maintenance and utilities. Participates in scheduled system upgrades and provides support, documentation, and training to all staff using the systems.

Education

Required - High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred - Associate's degree and completion of a related formal imaging training program, such as a radiologic technology program.

Work Experience

Required - 4 years of experience with direct interaction with radiology systems workflow including, the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archive System (PACS) or related imaging systems.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications, and working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) and other information system integrations; device and workstation interoperability; computer hardware such as workstations, servers & storage devices; and workstation & server operating system platforms.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills.
  • Analytical skills and ability to use a logical thought process in order to formulate solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure or stressful situations without compromising the concentration needed for attention to fine detail.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work extended/flexible hours (rotating shifts, on call, evenings, nights, weekends, etc.).

Job Duties
  • Performs analysis, testing and troubleshooting for assigned enterprise imaging applications.
  • Provides support and troubleshooting to end users while documenting procedures.
  • Facilitates the day to day operation of the infrastructure and maintains the system and data availability.
  • Provides installation and support of the enterprise imaging infrastructure and installs and maintains imaging related devices.
  • Coordinates multiple projects to include personal and resource coordination, documentation and management reporting.
  • Partners and communicates with assigned customers or end users while escalating potential concerns to management.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

The incumbent has no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
