The Role

The PLC Programmer will design, maintain, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers at our Mesa, AZ facility. The PLC Programmer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the process.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Drawing electrical schematics to document new controls systems installations and to document existing systems.
• Developing and installing programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
• Determine process system automation test criteria for automation projects.
• Testing automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
• Troubleshooting system errors.
• Overseeing the successful installation of PLC programs.
• Documenting development processes.
• Providing customers with technical support.
• Must be able to meet project timelines.
• Work in a safe manner that follows safety, environmental, and Facilities department policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in an instrumentation related field or equivalent demonstrated field experience is required.
• Minimum 1-3 Years Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley components (VFD, PLC).
• Familiarity with function block and ladder logic PLC programming and systems integration.
• General knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Strong computer skills (MS-Excel, Word, Google Mail, Drive, etc.) required.
• Detail oriented individual, able to manage multiple tasks with input from various individuals in the operations, maintenance, and engineering departments.
• Must have a valid Arizona drivers' license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to work additional hours and some weekends may be required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
• This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Knowledge of software design principles.
• Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
• Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
