Job Description
What You'll Do • Lead/assist in the formulation of OCC's response to consultations from regulators and standard setters and whitepapers. Monitor and advise Senior Management on key domestic and international regulatory issues related to central counterparties (CCPs), listed options, futures and securities lending industries, derivatives, and other issues, both internationally and domestically.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
• Develop relationships with counterparts in the international and domestic regulatory arena (SEC, CFTC, FSB, CPMI, IOSCO), and among the international trade associations such as: WFE, CCP12, ISDA, and FIA• Lead/assist in the formulation of OCC's response to consultations from regulators and standard setters and whitepapers• Conduct research and analysis on international and domestic developments on a wide range of financial regulatory topics • Prepare for and lead a variety of internal and external meetings • Monitor regulatory policy issues and developments related to CCPs, the US options, futures and securities lending industries, derivatives, and other issues, both internationally and domestically• Track changes in international standards and laws/regulation across the globe - IOSCO, Basel Committee, Bank of England, Financial Stability Board, European Securities and Markets Authority, IOSCO, CPMI, CFTC, SEC, etc. - that may have an impact on clearing services and/or the options, futures or securities lending industry • Assist OCC in obtaining recognition in the United Kingdom and the European Union• Develop analyses, briefing notes, and presentations to advise OCC Senior Management on key regulatory issues and developments• Monitor, cover, and report out on relevant regulatory and congressional hearings• Prepare background memos to brief senior leaders in advance of international and domestic regulatory meetings• Lead or assist in other regulatory policy and government relations projects• Collaborate with internal departments including, among others, Communications, Legal, Financial Risk Management, and Enterprise Risk Management• Develop a further understanding of OCC, its role in the marketplace, how it is regulated, and how it operates in order to write effectively about OCC, the CCP regulatory framework, and industry • Report to the Executive Director for Regulatory Policy

• Knowledge of capital markets and/or financial services; knowledge of the CCP regulatory framework and related issues a plus• Ability to cultivate and build collaborative working relationships both internally and externally• Ability to effectively communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing• Ability to function in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment• Ability to meet deadlines•
Technical Skills:
• Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education and/or Experience:
• JD or MS/MA in Economics, Finance, International Relations, or Political Science or a BS/BA in one of those areas with equivalent work experience.• 5 years' experience with regulatory policy and/or financial markets; knowledge of derivatives and/or CCP issues a plus.
