Product Design Principal

Joining our growing Design team, you’ll work with world class and passionate people to focus on unlocking the value of data for our clients through the innovation of Sphere, our flagship Retail Media platform that allows Retailers and Brands to plan, execute, and measure the impact of omnichannel Retail Media.

What you’ll be working on

A hands-on practitioner with experience leading design and innovation practices, you will work closely with the Product Design Manager and product team to develop and articulate a vision and UX strategy for the Sphere our retail media platform.

You will provide design leadership and direction within the product team inputting on complex design challenges to help the team reach informed decisions as well as ongoing design guidance, mentorship, and support ensuring the team's success in creating an impactful product experience.

You will be passionate about quality and consistency of the product experience, defining and maintaining standards, guidelines, and the design system.

Working in an agile, global team, you will be vital connector between designers, engineers, data scientists and product managers by forging a shared vision of the product experience, enabling alignment of individual efforts towards the product vision. Your communication and collaboration excellence will be essential to avoid siloed thinking and efforts.

A strategic thinker, you will apply design attention to the small details and the big outcomes, setting service KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to help the product team understand their impact on business outcomes such as customer satisfaction, financial performance, and growth.

Key accountabilities

• Set product experience direction in alignment with user needs and company goals.
• Adopt continuous discovery and research practices ensuring products solve for real user needs.
• Define and embed design standards for products and design systems supporting brand, accessibility, and legal compliance.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and coherence of product experience.
• Work closely with other departments, such as product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to product development.
• Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for product.
• Provide mentorship, guidance to other designers.
• Foster a creative and innovative work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement on team processes aiding collaboration and workflow efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas into design practices.
• Evaluate and implement tools and technologies that enhance the product design process.

What we expect from you

• Professional experience in user experience design.
• Ideally a degree in UX Design, Product Design, Human-Centred Design, Graphic Design, Communication Design etc.
• A portfolio of design work/case studies.
• Proven success leading design activities for shipped products.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong practice of user-centred design methodologies.
• Strong storytelling skills in communicating to stakeholders.
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and incorporating user feedback into the design process.
• Expertise in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, interaction design, and other relevant design disciplines.
•  Experience working with senior leadership to align design strategies with business goals.
• Proven record of developing and communicating design vision for products or experiences.
• Confidence in planning and conducting ideation sessions and workshops leveraging design thinking methods.
• Ability to articulate design decisions and strategies to both design and non-design stakeholders.
• Ability to link design outcomes to business goals and company strategy.
• Experience enabling iterative design throughout an agile development process.
• Experience in bridging communication gaps between design and other departments.
• Familiarity with industry-standard design tools and technologies.
