Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Bridge Design Project Engineer within the state of Kentucky.

As a Civil Bridge Engineer, you will work with project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concept through to detailed design for implementation and support roles during the construction phase. This is a diverse role that will involve your contribution and insight to the effective delivery of its current and future portfolio of projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing structural bridge design utilizing hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software to determine applied loading, demand requirements, and appropriate foundation and member specifications.
  • Preparing technical sketches, drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Assisting with inspection of existing bridges and other structures.
  • Coordinating with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
  • Performing condition assessments and site visits as needed.
  • Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency in Civil Engineering and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE in Kentucky.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience with MicroStation.
