Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager to be based in our Virginia Beach, VA office .

Duties include:

  • Manages a portfolio of clients with multiple projects
  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business as a result of successful project execution and positive relationships
  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned
  • Consistently completes projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion
  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors)
  • Manages more complex clients and projects
  • Has decision-making authority in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such
  • Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims
  • Working with the project Principal-in-Charge throughout all phases of the project to obtain client satisfaction and financial project performance.
  • In conjunction with the Principal-in-Charge, successfully develop strategy, prepares proposals, assists in negotiating contracts, and execute project(s).
  • Communicate with clients and project teams, which will include public agencies
  • Development and management of project schedules and budgets
  • Executes company Quality Assurance program.
  • May include management of teams across business lines, in remote locations, and/or management of subcontractors.
  • Business development and marketing support for proposals and presentations.
  • Facilitate team communication, coordination, and collaboration to support assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with and mentors less experienced team members and Project Managers
AECOM's Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable, and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions. Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering discipline plus eight ( 8) years of relevant project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Project management experience managing multi-discipline architectural engineering building and facilities design projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years' experience in an architectural/engineering consulting company
  • Management of U.S. Department of Defense projects, including NAVFAC and USACE is highly preferred
  • LEED Accreditation is a plus
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Security Clearance is a plus
  • Experience with other Federal agencies, including NASA and the Department of Energy
  • Experience in design-build and other alternate delivery methods
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-building approach
