Your Role and Responsibilities

As an entry level Test Specialist at IBM, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike. In your role you may be responsible for:

• Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
• Create test data and test environments
• Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
• Identify, understand, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications
• Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Knowledge:

• Windows Server - Servers as stations.
• Installing/configuring Windows and web services
• MS-SQL server 2014+, store procedures (the +1200 solution has many) etc.
• IIS Internet Information Services Knowledge
• Troubleshooting of connectivity, security, components of the aforementioned environments (frameworks, etc.)
• Linux, Docker (docker-compose, kubernetes)
• Troubleshooting .net sites / VB6 applications (legacy), xml logs, etc.
• For the modern part: kibana, swagger, sql (mssql), being able to hit a wsdl webservice, an api, soap (xml).

From the "functional" part:

• Knowledge of common fund back office operations/business (desirable)
• Knowledge of bantotal (and bantotal services) (NSBT), SQL (DB2 / AS400)
• Document processes / Flow diagram, generate infrastructure / deployment / components diagram. Document services / store procedures / data model, etc.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Desirable: Profiling, Tunning queries, etc. We have a lot of interaction with the DBA teams, today the supplier application is poor, failures at scale, constantly identifying errors and reporting improvements to the supplier.
• Challenges: Upgrade CORE from common funds to an external provider suite. It has direct interactions with Iseries / NSBT and SOA, we have to get out of there, go towards already approved components.
• Banking.
