Job Summary
BM2 Freight Services, Inc. is searching for a Sales Manager to mentor, train, and manage our Account Representative Trainees (ARTs) on proper sales acumen and operational excellence at our Corporate Office in Covington, KY. Our Sales Manager will report to our Director of Customer Sales and develop our ARTs while they are in BM2’s sales training program in the following key focus areas: Prospecting, customer relationship building, sales closing, shipment management with our Open Board team, and finalizing shipments for billing.
Summary/Objective:
The Sales Manager will mentor, train, and manage our Account Representative Trainees (ARTs) on proper sales acumen and operational excellence at our Corporate Office in Covington, KY. Our Sales Manager will develop our ARTs while they are in BM2’s sales training program in the following key focus areas: Prospecting, customer relationship building, sales closing, shipment management with our Open Board team, and finalizing shipments for billing. This position also requires collaboration with our Training department to assist in sales-related continuing education classes for sales associates.
Essential Functions:Â

- Mentor ARTs on cold-calling strategies, proper etiquette, and execution of sales calls with new and existing customersÂ
- Conduct one-on-ones with each ART to help them build a book of business and review their performance in accordance with our BM2 sales guidelines and expectationsÂ
- Review the reps Prospect Pipeline weekly to ensure the representative is moving prospects through the stages and has a specific plan on how to turn them into customers
- Review daily analytics to confirms the ARTs are putting the correct effort forth in order to be successfulÂ
- Collaborate with our Operations Support Departments to provide necessary support for your teamÂ
- Assist ARTs with warm calls after they have effectively secured a sales call with a new customerÂ
- Implement new processes with the Director of Customer Sales to enhance the development and success of your teamÂ
- Provide guidance and coaching to ARTs as it pertains to the full sales cycle, quoting, operational excellence, shipment execution, and relationship buildingÂ
- Help ARTs develop strategies to diversify their books of business across all verticals and mentor them on the different modes and commodities to research.Â
- Collaborate with BM2’s Training department to develop and teach sales techniques and industry acumen to sales team membersÂ
- Identify continuing education classes that might aid in the further understanding of the industry, market, and overall success of the organizationÂ

Annual performance reviews for ARTS
Approve and manage employee schedules and time off
Required Education and Experience:
5+ years of freight brokerage experience
2+ years of management experienceÂ
Preferred Education and Experience:Â
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or relevant field

Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or relevant field preferred
- 5+ years of freight brokerage sales experience with demonstrated success
- 2+ years of management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent leadership, training, coaching, and development skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple phone lines then prioritize and delegate subsequent tasks appropriately
- Heightened sense of urgency
- Ability to manage stressful situations in a professional, calm manner
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with TMS systems and/or DAT, Truckstop, Carrier 411, Etc.
