Job Summary:

The Second Pressman-Sheetfed will be responsible for assisting the press operator with setting up, operating, and troubleshooting multi-color offset print press to ensure the precision of printed stock that successfully and cost effectively meets the customer job order. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for loading correct paper stock, pulling and hanging plates, checking plates for imperfections, prepping blankets, cleaning ink rollers, install plates, load colors/fill reservoirs. 
• Monitors print quality, inspects for inconsistencies between sample and proof, and checks text for readability.
• Performs routine adjustments and completes repairs as needed. 
• Controls disposition of Hazardous Waste materials from Press Department to Hazardous Waste Storage Room.
• Reports to Pressroom Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Must satisfy journeyman requirements of industry.
• Manual pallet jack operating required.
• Experience with printing equipment, tools, maintenance, and repairs. 
• Good manual dexterity required; constant handling of material necessary.
• Good knowledge of color and excellent visual skills needed.
• Computer proficient 

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
•  Minimum for 3-4 years of experience.
• Allied Training: 3 months.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing-50%
• Walking-50%
• Lifting – 25-50 lbs.- Frequently, Carrying - 25-50 lbs.- Occasionally.
• Shift- 2nd 4:00pm-12:00am, 3rd 12:00am-4:00pm
