Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Security Operations Center (SOC) Administrator to join our security operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting, recording, and maintaining comprehensive logs of cybersecurity incidents and activities during security events. Additionally, you will support after-action follow-ups and track the completion of remediation items identified during post-incident analysis, ensuring that all actions are accurately documented and completed. You will collaborate with incident responders, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely capture of incident details, supporting post-incident reviews, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities

  • Accurately document all events, actions, decisions, and technical analysis during cybersecurity incidents, ensuring a comprehensive record of the timeline, affected systems, and responses.
  • Work closely with incident responders, analysts, and engineers to capture critical data for ongoing investigations and analysis.
  • Maintain clear, detailed, and organized incident logs that support the incident response process and future audit requirements.
  • Participate in post-incident analysis, ensuring that after-action reviews are documented, lessons learned are recorded, and actions taken are properly tracked.
  • Track the completion of remediation items identified during post-incident analysis or from internal testing, ensuring that they are properly addressed and updated in documentation. Follow up on action items to verify successful resolution.
  • Assist in the creation of post-incident reports, ensuring that remediation efforts, incident trends, and security improvements are captured in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to internal documentation standards and incident response protocols across all logs, reports, and records.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, helping to document best practices and improve incident response workflows.
  • Provide feedback to improve incident documentation processes, templates, and tracking systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in future responses.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; MA or MBA preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, GCIH, or GCIA are desirable
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in Information Technology preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of direct IT Security experience in Security Operations preferred

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $83,538.00 - $137,241.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
